Announcing the Women of WordPress community site, womenofwp.org

June 29, 2013 Stephanie Leary Leave a Comment

Back in April, when I wrote a rebuttal to that silly post asking where the women of WordPress are, I got a huge response. Tons of women replied (mostly on Twitter) and said they’d felt overlooked, too. As we talked back and forth, we all agreed that we wanted to do… something. But what?

Heather Acton had registered womenofwp.org some time ago, intending to turn it into a community site, and now we’ve done just that. It’s a BuddyPress community, open today, for all women involved in the WordPress community. To begin with, it’ll be a member directory with a forum. But we’re also asking for suggestions for future articles. If there’s something you’d like to learn about, or a topic you’d like to write about, let us know!

Welcome to the community.
