One piece of Harry Potter craziness I haven’t seen mentioned elsewhere…

My HP order doesn’t show up on Amazon’s recent order page. I can’t track it via the website. Their emailed shipping notification told me that it’s shipping via UPS, but doesn’t give a tracking number.

Are they afraid people will hunt down the UPS trucks?

… you know, that fear is probably justified.

… I suppose it would be in bad taste to describe UPS employees this week as “harried.”

Amusingly enough, my Delivery Status widget, given the Amazon order number, can still provide some tracking info. All day yesterday it feigned ignorance (“Harry Potter? You have ordered no Harry Potter. Don’t you see your recent orders page? Show me where it says Harry Potter!”) but today it registers a departure scan.

I’m almost done rereading Half-Blood Prince. I’d forgotten how very uneventful it is, right up till the end.
