Monday, we had planned to go to Sea World while everyone dispersed, but between loading all our junk into the cars and taking Michael’s mom to the airport, we didn’t get there until 3 in the afternoon, just as the temperature went over 100. It was still a lot of fun, and I have pictures of that (mostly of whales and seals, not of us, and nothing of Michael but his arm. yeah, I suck at this photo thing.). We got home to find that my mom and aunt had dismantled all the flower arrangements and had vases of roses and hydrangeas and sweet peas in little vases all over the house. I’ve never seen that many fresh flowers there before, and we should have taken pictures—it looked like something out of a home magazine. They were already wilting by the next morning.
The few days at the beach were relaxing. There’s not much to do there except eat seafood and sun yourself, and we got roasted on our first afternoon out, so sunning was not much of an option. We wandered around the surf shops and watched a lot of Food Network. (Iron Chef America is so much easier to follow than the original.) Michael ate shrimp with every meal, which was his goal. I was fine until they served us a bowl of peel-’em-yourself shrimp, which came with the heads and legs still attached. That pretty much ended my seafood spree.
So today we are back, sunburned and disappointed that Harry Potter was sold out at the theater already. We have it on good authority that there was a moving van at the soon-to-be-ours house today. Tomorrow we might go to Houston to catch the movie, and if we do I’ll work on thank-you notes on the way. Maybe by then I’ll get used to the new name.

Port Aransas.
The heat seems to have cranked up just for us. It was quite pleasant downtown the week before.

Cool, thanks!
