Monday giveaway: HTML5 For Web Designers

October 7, 2013 Stephanie Leary

keith-html5-for-web-designersI’m kicking off a week of book giveaways with the best brief introduction to HTML5: Jeremy Keith’s HTML5 For Web Designers, published by A Book Apart.

My own book, WordPress for Web Developers, shows you how to build WordPress themes with the assumption that you already know the basics of HTML and CSS. If you learned HTML back when tables ruled the earth and you haven’t brushed up on the new elements, this is a great overview.

To win, leave a comment and tell me what you’re working on. What’s your current project? Winners will be chosen via random number generator at 9pm and notified by email. This is a paperback copy, so I’ll ask for a mailing address.

Tomorrow, I’ll give away a copy of the companion volume, Dan Cederholm’s CSS3 for Web Designers. Later this week, there will be giveaways of both paperback and ebook editions of WordPress for Web Developers. And on Friday, I have a fun surprise giveaway.

    Thanks, Stephanie! :)

    Woohoo for giveaways! :)

I’m working on rolling a theme for a realtor (no live links for bragging yet). Also attending the Front Porch conference for front-end devs tomorrow and looking forward to some knowledge download.

I’m ashamed to admit it, but I really need to give my site the major overhaul it sorely deserves but for which I haven’t had time or effort to expend. I’d really like to get code level nitty gritty, and this would be perfect timing. I’ve got several books from A Book Apart, and they are amazing!

On another note, this week is #heweb13. I miss you. :(

I miss you too, and the hashtag is making me jealous! It’s just as well that I’m not there, though. I’ve had bronchitis for a week and I’d just cough all over everyone.

Hi ;) I’m forever working on http://www.dyc.edu, and soon, the website for a friend’s restaurant… As soon as we can get the gigiscucinapovera.com domain transferred to us from the “designer” who’s been holding it hostage.
