Dinosaurs with Jetpacks — More thoughts on the music industry vs. its customers. “By refusing to sell DRM free on iTunes Universal allows 3 things to happen. 1) They get to ensure that DRM-free tracks sell horribly. This is good because it ensures 2) the DRM tracks they sell on iTunes will sell much better. This allows them to say ‘look, we sold more DRM tracks than DRM-free tracks. Obviously the consumer prefers DRM.’ââ
