Redesign complete…

June 29, 2003 Stephanie Leary

… more or less. It’s taken me a few hours to get all the small things right, and even now I’m missing some things under the hood (like accesskeys and, oh yeah, validation). I actually find it harder to redesign site-wide in Movable Type, not just because I never know exactly how the dynamic content will work, but because I can’t search and replace in the template code. No matter how much I test with static files, inevitably something will need to be changed, and I won’t find it until after I’ve duplicated the mistake across a dozen page templates.

If I don’t lose my mind first, I’ll be adding another stylesheet soon, along with a switcher. But, since I’m driving to Corpus Christi tomorrow with people from my office, there is a very, very good chance that I’ll lose my mind before I get the new styles going.

See y’all Wednesday.
