Lost in a Good Book

February 27, 2003 Stephanie Leary

I do love it when a tech book makes me laugh. From Content Management Systems, on swaying users to the new system:

As the content management effort proceeds, it helps to be able to tell stories like: “It used to take twelve burly men three long days to publish this content, but now I can do it by pressing this small orange button.”

On the down side, while my authors at work can publish their content by pressing a small button, it does take twelve burly men three days to proofread the junk that they publish when they paste Word data, complete with smart quotes and funny characters, directly into Movable Type. I long for the upgrade to 2.63 and all its text formatting plugins.
