I had to take a break to help my parents move over the holidays. I’m sorry I was away so long!

“Everything we know suggests that we’re entering an era of epic corruption and contempt for the rule of law, with no restraint whatsoever.”

Congress

The new Office of Congressional Ethics can’t release information to public. Or have a spokesperson. No communication. In any way. Got it? pic.twitter.com/BCVDjn3SmY

In a secret ballot on Monday night, the House GOP moved to absorb the Office of Congressional Ethics into the House Ethics Committee. Yes, sure, put Congress’s watchdog under the control of Congress! Secret ballot, government holiday, midnight vote to exempt themselves from oversight: check, check, and check.

The House wants to ban livestreaming and photography from the chamber floor. Because they want to go back to being able to hide their actions by turning off the C-SPAN cameras, one presumes.

Trump

Trump refuses to face reality about Russia

No, Mr. Trump, it is not time to move on. U.S. intelligence agencies are in agreement about “what is going on”: a brazen and unprecedented attempt by a hostile power to covertly sway the outcome of a U.S. presidential election through the theft and release of material damaging to Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The president-elect’s dismissive response only deepens unanswered questions about his ties to Russia in the past and his plans for cooperation with Vladimir Putin.

Remember the checkbox on the “how to be a fascist” list that goes, “circumvent the media and use alternate platforms to speak directly to the people without being questioned”?

The Wall Street Journal publicly admits to being a propaganda arm.

“I was just in Moscow and people are laughing as Putin plays ‘that fool’ Donald Trump”

Russia has been cultivating Trump since at least 1986–KGB era. (Where Putin used to work.)

Why Corporations Are Helping Donald Trump Lie About Jobs

On Wednesday, Mr. Trump said Sprint’s top executive had told him the company would add 5,000 jobs “because of what’s happening and the spirit and the hope.” But it turns out that the jobs are part of a previous commitment by Sprint’s parent company, SoftBank.
