Fascism Watch, December 2

December 3, 2016 Stephanie Leary Leave a Comment

Sorry for the late posts these last couple of days, y’all. Migraines suck.

On to Friday’s fascist nonsense, in which we have just one topic today: “a bull in a nuclear china shop.”

Trump

Trump’s Breezy Calls to World Leaders Leave Diplomats Aghast. In two days, he’s promised to visit Pakistan, invited the architect of mass killings to visit DC, and has now provoked China by speaking to the president of Taiwan. He claims that she called him, but Chinese media knew the call was planned and had been set up by “Taiwan-friendly members of his campaign staff.” Aside from the jaw-dropping diplomatic problems this creates, the Taiwan call highlights another conflict of interest: his desire to expand his business in Taiwan apparently outweighs nearly forty years of US policy toward China.

Trump has filed to block the recount in Pennsylvania.

Mother Jones reports that the company holding several of Trump’s mortgages, to which he owes at least $282 million, is putting itself up for sale. Who wants to buy a president?
