Fascism Watch, December 15

December 16, 2016 Stephanie Leary 1 Comment

Trump

“it’s been very obvious for leaders in Washington on the Republican side that the Russians have been undermining our democracy.”

Trump attacks the editor of Vanity Fair after a scathing review of his restaurant is published. This is not normal.

“Carrier is using the $16.5m investment in the Indiana plant to automate it, which will lead to more layoffs.”

Obamacare repeal = tax cut for millionaires.

Transition Team & Cabinet Appointees

The author of this nonsense has just been named to Trump’s national security council. She has tweeted that if the Clinton Foundation would not release its financials, that Putin would have to do it, and, on a visit to the Berlin Wall, that “walls work.”

Voting

The agency that certifies voting machines was hacked.

Other Fascist Nonsense

North Carolina’s special legislative session is a coup. Late Thursday night, they kicked out public observers, had a reporter arrested, and continued the session in private, with only audio recording. One of the last-minute bills turns a whole bunch of governor-appointed positions into permanent ones, letting McCrory’s appointees stay in their jobs after he leaves office.

Stephanie, I find your blog to be the highest nutrition feed for brains trying to monitor the new quick pace of the rise of fascism in the USA. It will be useful to historians in trying to understand how such a powerful country fell into a prison. THANK YOU for your efforts.
