Because I haven’t done one of these in a while

January 13, 2008 Stephanie Leary 5 Comments

New words: 981
Reason for stopping: quota, must go get some other things done today, because that took hours
Sustenance: Raspberry tea, yummy basil-tomato cheddar I picked up at Blue Baker the other day
Exercise: BodyFlow yesterday. Meant to go running today, but writing has taken too much time.
Mean things: Sweaters with little pink kittens.
Time wasters: Cassie Edwards. About which, I say, “Lordy.”

In other news: Persuasion on Masterpiece Classics (formerly known as Masterpiece Theater, but showing up in DVR guides as merely Masterpiece) tonight. Also, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, about which I am optimistic.

They’re offensive to the person meant to be wearing them.

    I think I’m just lost on that…

What did you think of Terminator: SCC?

The character in question is attempting to dress professionally for work while pregnant, and she’s insulted at the cutesy maternity clothes she’s finding in the store.

I thought SCC wasn’t bad at all. I’ll keep watching.

I agree. I wasn’t overwhelmed by it but I think it has room to grow. It surprised me a little. They are certainly expanding the concept, which I am happy about.

WordPress for Web Developers (9781430258667)

This is a book for professional web designers and developers who already know HTML and CSS, and want to learn to build sites with WordPress. The book begins with a detailed tour of the administration screens and settings, then digs into server-side topics like performance and security. The second half of the book is devoted to development: learning to build WordPress themes and plugins.

This is the second, much-revised and updated edition of Beginning WordPress 3, with a more accurate title. Everything’s been updated for WordPress 3.6.
