Progress on Marie’s book, Friday edition

June 22, 2007 Stephanie Leary Leave a Comment

I’ve found a cute little post template plugin for WordPress, so I can adopt the progress reporting style used by so many writers of my (online) acquaintance, without having to type it every time I post. It makes me happy.

New words: 828
Reason for stopping: Quota, end of scene, hands hurting
Sustenance: Raspberry tea, Cadbury chocolate
Exercise: I allowed myself to be talked out of going to the gym, and went to dinner instead. Bad me. No more Cadbury.
Darling du jour: No darlings today. Mostly connective tissue, and finishing up loose ends on earlier scenes.
Mean things: migraine, burned hands, pissing off an old friend, shopping at the mall
Writing-related: Started an outline to replace the useless one I found yesterday. Located three handwritten scenes to type in this weekend.
Time wasters: The Weeping Cock LJ community. OMG.

In other news: I’ve just realized that my LiveJournal crosspost plugin has been using its default loud, outlined style for the last month or so. I’m sorry, LiveJournal friends! That plugin doesn’t actually let you format the line it inserts into every post; I have to remember to edit the PHP every time I upgrade it, and evidently I forgot last time. It’s fixed now, and I updated all the affected posts, because it made me feel better. Maybe someday I’ll rewrite the thing to be configurable for real.

Also, my spouse is sympathetic to my iPhone lust… even unto declaring that the bank account can withstand the hit, and that I should get it at the Apple store if/when I visit my parents next weekend. We shall see. I want to know what kind of data plan AT&T requires on the damn things before I hand over any money. I’ll be at the Apple store in any case, because my mom is ready to punt her constantly-malfunctioning Dell, and I have promised to take her shopping for a MacBook.
