So I was in the bookstore this evening and I remembered that Justine Larbalestier wanted proof that her book was really out there. Camera phones are fun, even if the resolution stinks. (The bigger question is whether Hastings has it, given their great discounts and their psychotic ordering habits. Especially in YA; I’ll never figure out why they have sections for YA, YA Series, Teen, and Teen Series… with books from the same series split across two or three of those sections. But I was next door to B&N for dinner tonight.)

Why, oh why, did the Alias writers have to give Nadia the same I-thought-I-was-working-for-the-good-guys baggage that Syd has? Honestly. Recycling is for cans, not plots. (Mental note: must cc: this memo to West Wing writers.) And you would’ve thought that last season had taught them their lesson about letting other stories eclipse Sydney’s.

The WIP is still giving me fits. My hero is contradicting himself; now I have to either make him consistent or come up with a really good excuse to keep him this way. Unfortunately he’s a reticent sort of character and is not terribly forthcoming with suggestions. I take comfort in NaNoWriMo’s I Hate Myself and I Want to Die forum, but that’s not very helpful. I’m half tempted to just replace him with someone from Central Casting and move on.

So how’s your week been?
