Texas A&M Forest Service

2014 | Industry: Government

This project was quite unusual for me: the team already had a design, and the in-house developers were working on migrating platforms. The Texas A&M University System had recently mandated that all the state agencies in the system should update their names to include “A&M,” where many of them (including the Texas Forest Service) had not previously. The agency leadership had decided to take the opportunity to audit the website for the first time since its inception, and as a result, the communications staff were about to undertake the massive project of rewriting the entire website, section by section.

I was asked to consult on their content migration process, and teach two half-day workshops on writing for the web that would be attended by all the subject matter experts in the organization. A slightly updated version of this presentation is now available on Slideshare and included below.
