Monday blah

October 4, 2004 Stephanie Leary

Two weeks til the Farscape miniseries. Whee.

Went to RenFest yesterday. It was hot. So hot. We lasted four hours and when we got in the car to leave I was approaching heat exhaustion. Today I am sunburned. I have happy memories of tasty food and jewelry dealers peddling amber, but next year we’ll skip opening weekend unless a cold front comes in. I was pretty useless last night, although after a few episodes of CSI I had enough energy to throw some laundry into the washer and vanquish a few dust bunnies.

The awful novella is, to my delight, twisting itself into a not-awful subplot for the novel in progress. I haven’t quite decided whether to finish it as is or abandon this version and keep going with the subplot version. Stay tuned.

Oh! I forgot to tell y’all that I saw Shaun of the Dead Friday night. Funniest movie I’ve seen all year. Go. Now. Watch. I hope the American DVD has the same extras as the British one, because I’m told there’s a commentary track by the zombies.

WordPress for Web Developers (9781430258667)

This is a book for professional web designers and developers who already know HTML and CSS, and want to learn to build sites with WordPress. The book begins with a detailed tour of the administration screens and settings, then digs into server-side topics like performance and security. The second half of the book is devoted to development: learning to build WordPress themes and plugins.

This is the second, much-revised and updated edition of Beginning WordPress 3, with a more accurate title. Everything’s been updated for WordPress 3.6.
