Setbacks

June 23, 2004 Stephanie Leary

We got the mudding finished and the dining room taped and covered in plastic last night. However, the green paint is all wrong. We came to the conclusion that we can’t find a shade that won’t be too dark and still matches the remaining wallpaper on the bottom half of the wall…. so the rest of the wallpaper is coming down too. Tonight after writing (ha ha ha) I have to go in search of green paint that will work better. After this round of painting, we get to start over on the other half of the wall.

Argh. Argh. Argh.

In other negotiations, we have settled on a color for the entry, though we’re still debating whether it goes on half the wall (there’s another chair rail in there) or the whole thing. Michael wanted to take over one of the bathrooms, but I have very. definite. ideas. about the bathrooms, so I traded him the guest room. Our friends and relatives could very well end up sleeping in the kind of roadside attraction people sell tickets to see…. or it could be a paragon of elegant, minimalist design. One never knows what’s going on in his brain.

We have to take down the wallpaper under the chair rail as well? sigh Time to invest in kneepads, I think. Or at least a disposable pillow.
