Weekend

May 27, 2003 Stephanie Leary

Long weekends are great for plowing through a three-mile to-do list. Item #1: finish Marsha’s new site. If anyone can spot the problem in the stylesheet that makes Netscape 4 go boom, I’m all ears. (I’ve @imported it for now to avoid the problem altogether.) Item #2: cleaning bathrooms. Have I mentioned that SoftScrub is God’s cleanser? Well, OK, fire and brimstone is probably God’s cleanser, but here on earth we make do. I got friendly with the power scrubber Michael bought us a while back, and now we even have clean baseboards.

Item #3 is to finish Mom’s site…. haven’t gotten there yet. I spent a little too much time downloading and buying music instead. I went through the list at Buffymusic.net and now I have a dozen or so new favorite bands. Check the music section for links.

Smaller items (laundry, car wash, dishes, reserve hotel for WorldCon) all taken care of. On to critiquing…. one short bit done, need to send the comments back to the author, and then on to the novel I’ll be reading this week.

I’m exhausted. How are you?

WordPress for Web Developers (9781430258667)

This is a book for professional web designers and developers who already know HTML and CSS, and want to learn to build sites with WordPress. The book begins with a detailed tour of the administration screens and settings, then digs into server-side topics like performance and security. The second half of the book is devoted to development: learning to build WordPress themes and plugins.

This is the second, much-revised and updated edition of Beginning WordPress 3, with a more accurate title. Everything’s been updated for WordPress 3.6.
